I went shopping yesterday -- my father is a generous man; he handed me a $100 bill after attending my play last week with instructions to buy myself a new pair of shoes and jeans while I was at it -- despite my better judgment at stepping into a mall during the weekend-after-Thanksgiving-consumer-madness. I would have laughed most definitely. :^)

One time for Writing Comic Prose class, I wrote a short story about a grandmother "accidentally" tripping her bratty grandson on his skateboard at the grocery store, so he fell into this giant cake. I thought it was a hilarious story, but most of the people in my class thought it was "mean." Whatever.

Ha! I think that would be a very funny story. Any story that has bratty kids being humiliated -- especially physically -- is funny.

I think that's true. And their mentality grows more vapid with each generation. The worst part is that this growing mentality is also growing with lower standards for education which is an extremely bad and volatile combination.

Yes, I'm a mean, mean man. But seriously, I get so worked up seeing these kids strut around I feel I just have to do something. Not necessarily to teach them a lesson, because honestly they will probably never learn, but just to make me feel better.
