Happy Birthday!

And congratulations on the laptop - I remember the joy I felt when I got this laptop... ahhhh

Now it's two years old and falling apart. Sigh.

Yeah, I love this thing. Now I can carry my addiction around with me so I can have a fix anytime I need it....

Dan, you are so incredible. The way you speak about plays, and the ability you have to decipher them, and understand them on a deeper level is absolutely incredible, and a rarity these days.
Happiest Birthday my dear friend, a muffin will arrive in your presence shortly. :)

Ah, Russian writers. Always good for the mental/emotional screw-job. Your character sounds disturbingly like Raskolnikov (sp?) in Crime and Punishment.

I'm sorry I'm not around to tear it up with you and Jess this weekend, but I hope your birthday was great!

Yes. And the awesome thing about the whole thing is that Chekov describes this play as his comedy!

My character was a former peasant who, after the emancipation of the slaves, becomes a ruthless business man and has recently acquired a lot of money. And at the beginning of the show he's kind of talking about his peasant past and says, with no small amount of vitriol, "I'm rich, got lots of money...!" and every time I say it I can't help but want to exclaim, "I'm rich! I'm rich, bitch!"
