I was going to write something substantial, but the shower is calling.
Mum forced me to go to her friend's annual Christmas party today. The food is superb, and I bet I gained 2 pounds from all the fudge I ate, but there's never anybody to talk to. I can make idle conversation for a few minutes with the old ladies from church, but after that, I'm lost. Some weird girl I've never met before who was dressed in a weird German folk costume (why?) accosted me but thankfully I gave her the slip. Why, oh why don't my mother's friends have teenage kids? Is it really too much to ask?
