So, apparently I'm just getting inspired by things that are being said and brought up from this fest and NOT doing what I planned to do.

I wondered on Friday what Gaila has had to do to other people in her life. This is what I imagined. It's dark. And unbetaed.

It is beautifully, sparely dark. Slavery can drive a sentient to many desperate actions, after all.

And it's gorgeously written -- I applaud your ability to resist melodrama.
