Where did I put that can of Ddrama Llama repellant?

Because one just left a good sized Brooklyn Steamer on my door step. But first an update on how my life has been going since the last llama left town.

The job with the US census went well. The pay was amazing, and management and co-workers were gloriously scarce. While I was walking around the more "interesting" parts of town I saw several examples of heart breaking decay. Many of them deserved to be immortalized as a string of 0's and 1's floating through the intrawebz. However "Continued federal employment" and "photography" generally don't mix well.

That job ended after only a month. We were too good. Efficiency in a government project, who would have guessed it? Fortunately my boss said he would recommend me for the next round, whenever that is. A few days ago I got a letter from the census office in Detroit saying that my appointment has been extended to August 5th, so looks like the call back is going to happen within the next 45 days or so.

In the mean time I have another job. While working for the census I was having lunch at a McDonalds and one of the other patrons commented on my bag. He said he was looking for someone in the area who could hand out fliers for him door to door. Preferably with a clean driving record. I told him that when the census wrapped up I'd consider it.

I called him the day I got laid off, and was working the next week. It is a home improvement company, so if any of my Michigan friends are even considering improving their home within the next 3 years drop me a line. I could use the bonus.

I shall save my job kvetching until I have employment elsewhere.

On the canine front, shortly after Mr. Moose passed away Jack and Scott went to the Humane Society. Earlier I had told them that I would like something in a beagle. Jack said they would get what they wanted. 3 days after their first trip they came home with Guy, who looks a lot like this:

He's a good hunter, and quite the sneaky pete. We've had to search for him in the neighborhood a couple of times.

Now for the drama, as usual it has to do with Jack's proclivity for finding stray queers on the net and bringing them home. This one isn't even here yet.

For the past couple of weeks Jack has been chatting, both online and on the phone, with "Dave". Dave dutifully calls every day, and Jack usually spends an hour on the phone with him. At first Dave was going to come for a visit over the Fourth of July weekend, and all was fine and good. Now Dave is coming up that weekend to move in. This is sticking in Scott's craw.

Scott has uttered the following lines in my presence, "When something happens to Jack I don't want to be stuck with this guy." "When Jack passes away, I'm selling everything and moving back to Illinois." "No I'm not jealous!!!!!!1111!!!" So what am I chopped liver?

J&S had a massive blow up at each other earlier tonight and now are not talking to each other. Anyone have a cat free couch I might be able to crash on?

Then to add to everything my desktop computer died. Fortunately I was able to back up my most important data before it went completely kaput. I'm not planning on getting a new desktop any time soon. My laptop will work just fine. Anyone need some slightly used RAM or an older video card?

drama, life
