Quick post for now 'cause it's creeping on midnight and I need to go to work tomorrow yet, but:

arcanelegacy on Dreamwidth~!Not planning on moving over entirely, but I might start taking advantage of the cross-posting feature since that'll allow me to keep track of my friends on both sites. I'll be adding accounts to my friends list there as ( Read more... )

Uh, there's an option in S2 that's sort of a workaround where you can force other comment pages into your style so it'd still be the old style, kind of sort of?

If you have "View comment pages from my Friends page in my own style" checked under display under settings, that might be why. Unfortunately, idk what do with your own lj which is kind of stupid, but whatever. ):

I'll have to try that! Or just poke around on my settings and see what happened. :/

LJ is tripping out. No subject line, weird icon arrangement, no preview choice? I started a Dreamwidth earlier this evening, added!!!

I love that username! I added you back, of course. <3

Also apparently now everyone can edit their comments which is supposed to help make up for not being able to preview them. Which. Well. What features do paid users get, then?

The worst part about this is that the designers or the people in charge or whoever decided these changes were a good idea are totally ignoring everyone's feedback. :| And I could deal with the new ugly layout, but the functionality is pretty much gone so yeah, to dreamwidth I go. I just hope everyone migrates soon (or LJ realizes their fuck up :|).

Anyway, I'm kordella on there. Adding you! \o/

I know! I'm just...the first thing I ever learned about webdesign was FUNCTION. Your website's useless if it's all smoke, mirrors, and confetti, but can't actually be used for anything.

I'm going to stick with both, I think, to keep track of the people who're migrating and to keep up with the people I know who are stalwartly staying. I do still love LJ even if I really, really hate their decision making and design updates.

Still hoping they make some adjustments. I could get used to the new design if we just had the old functionality back.

Added you back!

I keep thinking about dreamwidth, but I'm not sure about it just yet. This commenting system is weird (having no title drives me nuts!) And the same goes for me, everything is in the old format except for the comments section. I must admit I like the drop-down for my icons at least. That's about it.

I jumped on mine last year (after the facebook cross-posting became default!) 'cause I wanted to sit on my username, but have only started to consider actually using it now.

They've got open access at least for this week, just in case you change your mind. :)

Personally, I still love the niche I've carved for myself here on LJ, and I'd hate to up and abandon it -- thankfully, Dreamwidth allows cross-posting, which'll let me post from there (using the nice, old format) and leave comments here and there.

I like that comm posts show comments that are new since I last viewed that post, but that's an addition I think I would have liked with the old format, not with this new..."design".

Ah, well just in case LJ goes into full Facebook mode, I am now on Dreamwidth, with the same username :). Probably won't start using it just yet, but It might be good to invest in.

And yeah, that's my main tug with LJ; I adore everyone here and don't want to give it up, even though Dreamwidth can cross-post.

I'm hoping it doesn't. :/ If there's one site out there that should stand as a "do not emulate" example, Facebook is it. Just...Facebook can (kinda, sorta) afford to mess with its user base and spring bad design updates on them since it's not making money off its users and stands to lose very little if they leave (unless there is a near-complete exodus, which is highly unlikely). But other sites (like this one) don't have the same luxury and SHOULD NOT attempt to go forward anyway.

I'm thinking I'll just start doing both for now. I can much more easily add another site to my daily roll than take one as massive and as consuming as LJ out.
