oh, Nebraska.

So the forecast this week has been very, very mild. I think we hit close to 70 (degrees farenheit) on Monday, which is really unseasonably warm.

This weekend? Thunderstorms. Followed by 6-12 inches of snow.

.....I hate this state.

the weather is snowy here and people are complaining anyway. If we had thunderstorms too, I don't know what they would do :/

Good luck with all the bad weather ;)

A couple years back we actually had a thunder-snowstorm, where the thunder and lightning was happening while it was also snowing pretty hard. It was...something.

Thanks! I've actually been waiting for this storm all season (we're usually buried under one or two like this one at least before December, but this year has been really mild).

Nebraska's weather sounds New Englandish, only with more thunder and lightning! That's really impressive.
It's weirdly warm here, too! I didn't need a coat yesterday. The weather has been vacillating between snowing and raining a lot.

From what I understand about New England weather, it is! Nebraska just doesn't have anything like the lake effect to keep the snow coming in winter, or mountains to shield us from certain storms, so wild vacillations like this aren't entirely outside the norm. I remember a few years ago we'd climb up to the sixties ever Monday, only to have snow on the ground again by Friday, and I think that same year gave us a thunder-snowstorm, where there was thunder and lightning and snow all at once.

I've been enjoying the mild! I heard somewhere it's one of those once-every-few-decades weather effects, vaguely like El Nino/La Nina, but without being either of those.

Nebraska is very, very special when it comes to weather. We're one of those states that considers it completely normal to make halloween costumes fit over snowsuits, fires up the grill in freezing temperatures, and empahsizes dressing in layers - when morning start off below freezing but warms up to the sixties by midafternoon, you kinda don't have a choice. XD

Florida is on a roll with the idiotic weather this "winter" too. In fact it's pretty much spring here now. This weekend it will be closer to 80 and most of the trees around here already have flowers on them.

It's been mild enough here the daffodils were starting to come up already.

Still - near 80! I must admit I'm a bit jealous.

We were supposed to have a foot of snow by now. Apparently it's been delayed for tonight/early commute tomorrow. It's currently 50 degrees outside...

It's about that warm here, too! I think how much snow we're supposed to get is gonna be determined by how fast the temperatures drop tomorrow, otherwise we'll get mostly rain and a little snow. :/

Me, I'm just glad it's happening after I'm supposed to get home from work. I hope the roads are clear for you!

I have somehow gotten very lucky that i have tomorrow off; i really hope the roads get cleared in a timely manner. CO is about 50/50 on keeping up with the snow storms, so I'll let you know what happens.

Oh, hey, awesome! That you don't have to go in, at least. Those are good days.

Omaha is usually pretty good at getting to the main roads fast, but the neighborhoods take a lot longer.
