and what's up with tumblr? Is that also like a livejournal? where you jot down your thoughts and ideas and share stuff with your journal pals? similar to livejournal and dreamwidth?
anyway it's good to see you. I am old school livejournal I guess, only because i leave this place for a year, and then come back.
I am! I've been crossposting for a while. I still browse LJ a lot, but when it comes to posting I tend to use Dreamwidth as a medium.
Tumblr is a microblogging service better suited to images, gifs, and graphics than actual written blogging - which is primarily why it's easier for me to be active there. I don't have to say much, just share pretty pictures with people. LJ is still where I prefer to go for posts with substance.
It's good seeing you, too! I am really trying to drag myself back into posting more often. I used to do it daily, and now I just...don't, and I miss the interaction I used to get out of it. SO MANY FUN CONVERSATIONS.
it's good you come here every so often, not daily. I dont come here daily either but i do come on over to read any open communities, friends list who are still here and there. It's like going out of style this livejournal thingy. soooo saddd... like an empire going down ...and dreamwidth has become the new empire.*sob* well it's good that you're still around :) I might go over to dreamwidth someday if i ever feel like fanficcing on a more serious basis someday :P
LJ doesn't update quickly enough for me to justify coming in every day anymore. I'll get maybe five new posts before hitting older stuff now. :/ I still feel a pretty powerful nostalgic attachment to LJ, but for myself (and many, many other users) their site design changes and lack of response to the criticism of and objection to said changes has been driving us away.
I hesitate to say Dreamwidth is really rising to fill a gap - it doesn't update that fast either. I think the blogging era is undergoing a massive cultural shift. Most everyone I know uses tumblr as their primary blog, even if it means they never update people on their lives the way they used to via LJ.
I still basically refuse to abandon this ship entirely, so I'll be here until LJ USA shuts down.
Yeah I'm just finishing up with NaNo this year, which has been eating away all my free time & gaming time. Haven't been able to be as active on here as I'd like, except for posting writing stuff which probably gets boring for folks!

I wish I could blame NaNo. I started out well, but then my friends and I went to a con that first weekend of November and I fell flat off that wagon. Didn't write anything past that first day. (My new argument is that I'm stuck on a good way to open the story and the rest will flow pretty easily [in part because some of it is already written], but the ultimate truth is that I'm a lazy sod. I need to stop finding excuses not to write and just do it.)
My poor Tumblr is a wild mishmash. Lately it's mostly concept art and sci fi stuff, but all of the things I like leak in as I see them on my dash.
Words are words are words when you're as desperate as I am. Ugh this is good and it is probably a reason I should update more too? I DON'T KNOW LJ IS HARD but I do hope your life settles down a bit soon so you have time to spend on other things!
