According to my American Studies intro class the two sexes lived in seperate spheres as suggested above, and only had each other to communicate with, even after marriage in many cases. This obviously led to strong bonds ( ... )

thanks for the comments, these are interesting thoughts.

It raises a few more questions which I'd like to hear your thoughts on:

1. Can the mentally strong man make a come back? Has he already started to? If the physically strong man's act of replacing the mentally strong man tore down some of these relationships, could we build them back up.

2. Are women happy or have they at least adapted to a point where they prefer the strong physical man, or were they the ones who engineered the shift in the first place? If they were responsible, do you think women might start to push back for more mental strength?
