He's staring at the monitors, heedless of everything going on around them. Or at least he seems not to notice, but Clark knows better than that. Knows him better than that.

I love this line. I love how much Clark thinks about Bruce being back and how much it means to him.
Like a black hole, he commands his attention every time they're together, swallowing the world around him into the darkness between the folds of his cape. And that smell of the infinite void.
You expressed it so well.
Time to be all smiles," he says, teasingly.
Oh Batman and smiles? It’s difficult to see even if everything is „normal“. But I’m sure Clark wouldn’t stop teasing and try.
Clark feels his stomach turn. Everything is still so awkward, and he wishes it wasn't, he wants-- he wants his best friend back, he wants to hold him, he needs-- he doesn't know what he needs.
Poor Clark, I can imagine his feelings.

Bruce and smiles! lol, not his forte. But he tries, if he must!
Clark's feelings after the destruction of Nk just.. surpass me. It's so horrible! Poor Clark, I can't believe they are just ignoring it in the Superman books, and making Clark feel guilty for not being on Earth. Like, whaatttt.
And yeah! Bruce and Clark do their best to save each other from pain.. self sacrifice! I love how much they try to keep each other safe :)
They will be strong together! I know they will!

We can get it back. - That was such an awesome line!
Clark is looking at him, and he feels the pull, the need. He wants to collapse in Clark's arms, to be held together by his strength.
He knows Clark would catch him and hold him tight!
But Clark had, and once you have Superman on your side, things are a lot easier.

Not to a burning landscape, not to the end of time. Not the apocalypse he had brought forth for the 21st century the first time around.

And of course Bruce trusts Clark to catch him! I think it's one of the few people Bruce can trust without reserve :D
I love that Clark thought of Bruce often in NK! And that Bruce held on to Clark's symbol while he was lost... I mean, there's something so strong about their connection :)

Not even the craziness of cube time or the reality bending powers of a new god can keep Batman and Superman from fighting the never-ending battle against the stuff in their universe that just isn't right!

Poor Bruce and Clark, they're both going through so much right now, with everything that's happened to them... They need each other now, more than ever. *squishes them together* And I love your theories on how Bruce is going to get back, how he's going to fix the timeline... and you included stuff from New Maps of Hell!!! *fangirls* I love that book so much, it's so pretty and awesome. :D And the hug at the end...

I really hope they get some time together in either Time Masters or.. or... SOMEWHERE. They need it! I really hope Bruce doesn't miss a year with Clark while he's walking America or whatever... though Bruce is probably not going to be around either, if Dick is going to be Batman? mannnn. *squishes them together*
