School's over, and I have to get some stuff to read this summer. Patty had some great advice: "just read all the books you own that you haven't read, you idiot."

Tocqueville, "Democracy in America."
Ovid, "The Metamorphoses."
Tolstoy, "War and Peace" (yep).
Dostoevsky, "The Idiot."
Whitman, "Leaves of Grass."
Bloom, "Where Shall Wisdom Be Found?"
Dryden, "Poems"
Housman, "Poems"
Yeats, "Poems"
Catullus, "Poems"
Dickens, "David Copperfield."
Aristotle, "Nicomachean Ethics."
Plato, "Ion."

Some books I don't own that I want to read:

Hesiod, "Theogony"
Plotinus, "Enneads."

Gimme suggestions, LJ. Just like last year I'm gonna put this into my user info and reward myself by crossing out the ones I manage.

Happy summer!
