Brideshead Revisited was kind of a snore-fest. The ending was sweet, and I liked some of the characters, but it was much too long and parts of it were too boring. There also wasn't enough character development, or physical description... just lots of moralizing and outlandish analogy.

Camping is such a lot of fun. I finished reading The Idiot and am trying real hard to figure out the ending.

Maybe instead of going to grad school for English I can start looking into law schools... apparently an English degree gives you a good angle when applying for law, because of all the reading and memory work required in law studies ( Read more... )

I mouthed off to a superior at work today. Dostoevsky will make you do crazy things like that. Funny thing is that Dostoevsky was right... I was totally in charge.

Read Hesiod's Theogony. Just do it, and find out whose balls get chopped off and chucked over whose shoulder.

I wanna make a film version of Notes from the Underground, but using children. Don't know how I'll make the hooker scene work out, though.

After finishing this, I think I was just bored brainless from reading Plotinus and that's why I loved Oedipus Rex so much. Either that or I coincidentally read two of my favourite books back to back ( Read more... )
