all fall down

She’d left him (the tin dog the idiot left behind you’re useless you’re nothing) behind, again.  It wasn’t her fault, this time, or the Doctor’s, but Mickey couldn’t help but blame them, just a little.

Okay, maybe a lot.

He’d been perfectly happy being the coward (the baby the chicken the gutless wonder), the one who hid while ( Read more... )

Oh, very cool, but I think I'm a huge fan of Mickey and Jake. Nice interspersal (is that a word?) with Rose and the Doctor, too. And has anybody done post-Doomsday fic involving Mickey, Jake, and the awkwardness of Rose's return?

I really liked this story, it was really especially great at the end ;) The things in brackets were really strange, though, I don't know what I thought of them. Sometimes they were funny, but most of the time, I didn't really know who was saying them (or thinking them), and it got a bit confusing. I reckon the story would be great either way, with or without them, though. I just sort of read them and paid no attention, and skipped on to the proper story.

Jake let Mickey press the button on the detonator, and Mickey tried not to fumble it.

YES. THAT IS MICKEY. That is so perfectly Mickey; I think I love you.

Ahaha, this is so many different kinds of amazing I don't know where to start. I really love how you put in things about Rose, and how she sort of felt guilty but didn't think about it much. The writing style is great -- very creative, and it gives a lot of little details which is important -- but sometimes it gets a bit distracting.
