I just did that big post on music and I realized what popular music was missing these last couple of years: a defining drug. Or at least a defining feeling associated with a defining drug. "Prozac withdrawl" does not fucking count

I think the other drugs are all things that inspire music like Crunk. That slow fucked up time warping thing is from DXM, or mixing lots of stuff with alcohol. I mean, honestly, ROCK music needs a new good drug, or techno, or something. The most honest stuff they're coming up with now is largely coming out of raw emotional distrust and discontent. I dunno.
