I still haven't personally heard anything back from the people I emailed and I went directly to voicemail when I called the station manager, however I have heard from other sources that the station has been inundated with emails and phone calls. Yep. And then they've gone off on big rants about how they have "freedom of speech" and yelping about "censorship" and yadda yadda. I just wrote them a letter pointing out to them that while freedom of speech is protected, freedom from the consequences of what you say? That's not so much.
So they can just sit there and watch while all their big name sponsors flee their sinking ship and ponder what it's cost them to to be scum sucking, knuckle dragging, pucker faced hemorrhoids of a human beings.
Only I didn't add that last part in, but it was heavily implied.

Yes, they have freedom of speech. They told us about their character. Sadly, we have free speech to. How that becomes censorship--oh wait. They're only kidding, right?

Yea as I recall, freedom of speech protects you from government, not community.

At 7:29pm EST, we received yet another statement to distribute. This time it came from AT&T. AT&T wrote:

"The matter was brought to our attention and we have pulled our advertising from the station."

I am very, very sorry. Even more sorry if my passing on the link to your post brought this hateful person to your virtual doorstep :(

However, I utterly and totally disagree with the person's perspective on what you wrote and how you chose to illustrate your examples.

The reaction shows just how very very long a journey we have ahead of us as a tolerant and compassionate society.
