Yes, I know I'm Trickster's child and as such this should be like, my high holy day, but in reality not so much.

not to mention a periodic day that schedules tricksies nullifies it. Duh.

Fake obituaries

Um, no. Not funny by an order of magnitude. Toying with other people's feelings in the name of April Fool's Day is not tricksie. It's raw manipulation pretending to be socially acceptable, rather than psychopathic. Some of us were not put on the planet to provide temporary fixes to other people's petty control issues.

And honestly? Don't piss of a real Trickster for real. You won't like what happens next.

*poke* This is the answer to your question in my LJ. Rob's post is why I loathe April Fools Day.

It seems like having it scheduled in advance gives a lot of people the feeling of justification they need to point to that day on the calendar and go "It's your fault if I tricked you because you forgot that today is a scheduled Tricksy day!" Which is truly stabby inducing in that special "blame the victim" sort of way. Insult meet injury ( ... )

Oh suckage! I wouldn't be going this year either, to be honest, except that I was -ordered- to go by my intense animation professor. It's very weird to be ordered to go to something that might've sounded like fun before you got ordered to go to it, but now kinda feels like....work. I'm sure you know exactly what I mean. I seem to recall a Pride event in DC that you went to described similarly.

Spooty LJ! You stop acting weird and posting before I'm done!

I was just gonna add that you'll definitely be missed. But I totally understand how it goes.

This. This right here. I'm going to tell David to come read this. He doesn't get why I hate today.

I'm already here. I do get why it is hateful--I just wanted to know your particular take on it.

It's like a giant real-world game of dodgeball. Only the big popular jock kids liked dodgeball. This is a bike-helmet, Windex-breath retarded "holiday".
