Writer's Block: Use Your Power

Dec 26, 2008 00:13

Often times, the people I know who have no power beyond the natural human ability speak of how much they wished for a "super power" or to be able to do one thing or another that they'll never achieve. I don't pretend to understand it.

Having some form of power is a constant burden. It draws attackers, putting yourself and those close to you in ( Read more... )

writer's block, superpowers

That was a little bit depressing.

But the point is if you're happy with your life decisions and they aren't harming anybody, that's all that matters.

I think if I wasn't so sure of the existence of an afterlife, I would find life in general depressing. I don't think in terms like that, really though.

I do. Maybe that's part of my problem.

Its only a problem if you believe it to be.

Wow...that's...really admirable. I'm sure you're not doing it for the admiration or some other BS reason but still...

Triana's really lucky to have a guy like you.

No, I don't want admiration or pity. My point most definitely that those reasons were not why we do this.

Thank you, though I'm not really sure what you mean.

Right. It's just rare to find people so selfless.

You two are seeing each other, right? You seem like a really good guy, so she's lucky to have found you.

I would hardly say I'm selfless.

...I don't think so... I think she's interested in other people, as well.

I was wondering where you were.

But you have to remember that thing I mentioned about compassion. If you want to protect something, you actually have to give yourself an appreciation for it.

I've been working on it. I've taken a great deal of your advice to heart. I don't think I would have been afforded a great deal of opportunities without you these last few months, Amarao-san.

Yes well... I believe in respecting my elders and superiors when they deserve it and have valuable wisdom to share.

I don't want recognition really. I want to be better than my opponents and my comrades. Until very recently, the only person I had in my life to give me a pat on the back was taken away from me and discredited by everything around me. So recognition or a congratulations are not something I would expect or want.

Wow...your really dedicated to your thing, huh? I guess I can understand that. My dad is sort of the same way about his work too. I think it's important that you feel that way about it though. If something is worth anything you have to fight for it right? I guess I just haven't found my thing yet you know...so I get what your saying but I can't really ever get it? Does that make any sense? Probably not...

You have scars?...This I did not know...but that's not really important is it...anyway... uhhh...

Maybe you wanna hang out tomorrow...I've got a present for you and I don't want you working yourself too hard, it is a holiday after all.

You didn't notice? The scars on my hands are very slight and thin, silvery almost, but I thought you would have noticed the larger ones on my chest.

Yes, that would be fun. I have something for you as well. Would you like to come here?

Well...it's not like I've SEEN you without your shirt on...or anything.

And I don't exactly pay attention to how your hands look either. I guess I should...
