Being at Oberlin was...amazing...I mean, wow...I feel like I've been away from DC for weeks.  This weekend, DE with the fam, and the weekend after that...NYC baby!

I 've officially started writing at work.  Like, my-writing writing.  Uhoh.

I cry once a week.  At least.  Like clockwork.
It's really annoying and inefficient.

As I've decided to officially become a writer, I'm starting a blog with what it's like to submit stuff.  To save everyone from insanity, I won't post rejections--because that's most of what I'll get.  I'm also going to be writing about my writing projects and put up some samples.  Nothing interesting up yet, but here's the address:

 I'm at work right now; work is ridiculously awesome.  This morning I shelved books, and then I FINALLY got my log-in password to work, got an ID (that's needed to enter the building before 8:30 a.m.), typed up some stuff and answered the phone, started doing some cataloging work, and then I had..er...a two-hour lunch break.  Technically the lunch ( Read more... )

(My mother came into my room this morning with a smoothie.
"Is it vegan..?" I asked groggily.
"Yes!" she exclaimed.  "Your brother made you a vegan smoothie!"
How times have changed.)

    She still felt it as she organized the gerberas, cut the irises, and admired the roses.  She loved nothing better than a lovely rose.  They were so overused and unappreciated that only the keenest eye could pick a beauty.  It really sad something, to know how to see that kind of beauty.  That kind of beauty is what really says something about a ( Read more... )
