The headline is misleading. Reuters didn't doctor the photo, they bought it from a freelancer who doctored it (very badly). Interestingly, this was the same freelancer who provided the questionable photos of the Qana rescue operation.

Even so, Reuters bought the photo knowing it was doctored (or they have idiots doing that type of thing). They are partiallly responsible for this.

I'm leaning in the direction of idiots. Even if Reuters hated Israel (no comment there), it's never in the best interests of a news agency to publish easily discovered forgeries. The assumption of reliability is how they make money.

Thanks for the article. This whole war/conflict is so upsetting. Not just because of the biased media/doctored photos, but because so many people are dying and it's like the only good that does is figure out who should get the world's sympathy and who should be shown as evil. Ugh. Just bothers me so much.
