So my brother Darrell was driving down the road with his daughter Savannah in the car and some woman hit him, doing some damage to his car (but thankfully he and Savannah were not hurt). They pulled over, the woman (and her friend) got out crying and asking him not to call the police because she's not supposed to be driving because her license was ( Read more... )

What.

WHAT.

WHAT THE HONEST FUCK IS THIS?

There is nothing right about this. I don't know whether the two women, or the state trooper is more infuriating.

The whole situation was just ridiculous. The state trooper acted like he was angry because they were outside of their vehicle when he got there. I think anyone would need to get out and stretch their legs after four hours of waiting. He was yelling for them to get back in their car and basically treating them like people he had pulled over for doing something wrong rather than victims of a hit and run who had called him there to help them.

He contacted his insurance company last night but I don't know if he's heard back from them yet. We're hoping the state trooper was wrong. I mean, how can that be right? It seems impossible that nothing can be done about it.

If the damages are enough, the insurance company will give Hell to the two women, or at least they'll try. As Snarechan pointed out, those people hate to pay. They won't if they can find the woman. They'll sue them for the damages if the price is high enough. At least that's what they'd do where I live, and I am told USA insurance companies are even stricter than European ones when they come to pay. The least thing that'll happen is that they'll give crap to the woman for driving without a revoked license.

Darrell may not have power or lawyers to get back at her, but I bet the insurance company will at least try.

However... the way the police behaved was pretty shameful, yes.

Hmm seems to me I made a mistake when I had my accident in March of 2006. I should have run. Not stayed and gotten chewed out. Even though it was the other guy's fault for trying to do a UTurn but they pinned it on me since he had another guy in the car with him and I didn't have anyone on my side....

Yep, running from the scene of an accident is allowed and encouraged by our justice system! Who knew?

BY THE WAY! You now have even more reason to try FFXIII-2! There's an upcoming DLC outfit for the main male character (Noel) to dress him up in an outfit that looks just like Ezio's! Here's a picture. Cool, huh?
