Rock of Ages...

Today in church I was struck with something that I guess I never really thought much about before. We sang the fairly-new song "How Great is Our God" and then phased into "How Great Thou Art". While we were doing this I was looking up at the stained glass windows (because for some reason I like to look upwards when I worship) and I just got to ( Read more... )

hey Kristin ...that's an amazing though about all the generations praiging God in different styles and different ways.

it's amazing to think even just at Vista del Sol in the past 25 years how many people, in love with God, have worshiped the Lord through hymns, praise choruses, and worship songs

and that's just worship through music. imagine how many have worshiped through reading God's word, through serving in ministries, through counseling others, etc

I love the last part of your post, though - God truly is the only One who never changes

Marti Marti! Good to get a comment from you :). It's actually kind of funny that you chose right now to read my LJ because before 2 days ago I hadn't written in it in like a month. I dunno, I still have interesting things happen to me all the time, but I just don't find the time to write it out anymore. Yeppers, I'll be there for SB and we'll have a BLLASSST :). We WERE going to do something pretty big for SB this year as a family because I'm graduating, Jor's graduating, and it's my parent's 30th anniversary, and my Mom's turning 50 (wow, what a hallmark year - lotsa things goin' on) but we talked and I would just kinda rather they put that money towards my grad school rather than go on some extravagant vacation right now, as much as I would love that. So ya, we'll be in EP most of it. I'll have to go see Glory Road - Audrey Entsminger (do you remember her?) is an extra in it and she said you could see her in one part. Check out her boy friend's journal, there they are in '50s attire ( ... )
