Okay, as much as I dislike Cheney and would like to agree with you that he did it for fun or revenge, all of the news accounts confirm (after the sensational headlines) that the friend walked into the line of fire while Cheney had already begun to shoot at a covey. If you walk in front of my gun barrel, it ain't my fault if you get popped.

That said, I can't imagine why any sane person would go hunting with Cheney anyway.
