FOR REALZ. And here I thought I was the only one bemoaning the current bout of warm weather. "Pleasant," my ass. All warm weather means to me is that I can't wear my requisite hoodie anymore, my fabulous pea coat much be retired to the closet to collect dust and cat hair, my scarf collection must be neatly packed away in my chest of drawers. It means that when I walk into a store to buy clothing, all I will be able to find are peasant skirts and flipsy-flouncy loose-y goose-y hippie garb and tank tops, usually in bright cheerful unflattering colors and prints. It means people will soon be subjecting me to their HIDEOUS, DISGUSTING feet in those ungodly flip-flops. It means kids will have more daylight hours to scream in their front yards and get in my way when I'm trying to drive. It means that it will be light outside when I settle in to watch "Mythbusters" and that is just plain wrong. It means my nightly cup of Earl Grey will be less enjoyable.

Summer sucks. Long live winter.

much like monty burns before us, we should make a machine which blocks out the earth's son.
if you want daylight, you can go out between the hours of four and six in the afternoon. get your vitamin d. get your "ooh, i am so sad because i cant see the sun" syndrome shit out of the way.
or move away from nosunlandia, usa.

you and Q.E. 1. And from the looks of that photo, you have almost as much make-up on.

Hallelujah!

We didn't even get much of a winter up here, anyway. It barely froze for most of the time... in fact, I was just getting acclimated to the brisk weather when this happened.

On the plus side, I have feet like shoeleather, and don't mind sandals.

me, too.
and i took it for granted the last cold snap we had.

but it will make me appreciate it all the more next year.
and i can always make it winter inside with the wonder of my aired conditioner.

Shh! You'll frighten it away!! ebef April 1 2006, 13:36:37 UTC
While I do not dislike winter, I have found that when the weather stays cold for more than three weeks, it can tend to drag and have a negative effect on one's mood. I was feeling really terrible for a good portion of February, but when that first warm day popped its head around the corner, boy, I tell you, I cracked a smile that's barely left my face since.

but you live in colder climes now.
if you were still here in jacksonville, you would be cursing this horrid weather.

good to see you feeling better, though.
