I'm missed Jay, and I'm really looking forward to his return. Unlike you, I also love Dave, and have been watching him all summer. I don't like Conan, either, and Dave has been kicking his butt.

I starting recording "Nightline" -- it keeps up with the news of the day. I'm a lot more interested in news broadcasts than I used to be.

Leno has never thrilled me as a host. Letterman used to rick, now just going through the motion. Conan left hus edge behind long ago. Falon just sucks. Kimmel is mostly fresh, if low ball in his humor.

Now Craig Ferguson is weird, smart, funny on new ways. I record his show for later. His interviews are uneven at times, but still good. Highly recommend it.

Jay's first monolouge seems to jump from what happened over the summer to what happened over the weekend. Maybe that was the intent. I like the monolouge better when there is little video interaction, like going to a picture, video clip, or prop. The Jerry S interview quickly became evident that it was all set-up with both becoming actors in a comedy bit. Hit fast forward about 40 seconds into that Car Wash bit and again for the song performance. I think it is good to see a comedy bit saved for the end for those that join the show just before the news. I've been pipeline (TimeSlip) watching the 6pm news hour for a while now, now the 11pm is given the same treatment. I wonder if Jay will have any jokes on the Jimmy Hofa search tonight.

I like Jay's monologues & am glad to see him back, albeit at an inconvenient time up against all the new/returning shows. I'm especially thrilled he kept the band, which has at least 2 talented female musicians, while the other late-night shows have no female musicians at all. It's a creepy flashback to a more misogynistic era on tv.
