I tend to read lots of Prussia fics, and there's just so much angst with him that it was amazing to read a story that gives him a happy ending in regards of this topic. I'll probably keep re-reading this fic forever.

It was well-written and was an amazing and in-depth analysis of the relationship between Prussia and Austria. The entire thing had an air of melancholy, because it seemed like Gilbert's death was inevitable, and the revelation about the Teutonic Knights brought a huge smile to my face. It was well-thought out and well-researched on your part, and incorporated in very well. Most people assume that it's because Prussia has become East Germany that he's survived. I actually like this theory much better. It's probably become my new headcanon.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm nearly floating, here. And I've always thought Prussia and Austria understand each other better than it's often depicted in fandom, they've gone through a lot together, really, and there's a lot between them. The whole Teutonic Knights idea wasn't mine, though, that brilliance is totally the original meme requester's. I just read it and thought it has to be written because wow, that's an awesome idea that brought a good chunk of German history to a satisfying closure. It's became my new headcanon, too, in a way, while I was planning out the story. XD
(Although, all right, the research was mine.)

I don't know how I managed to miss it on the meme, but I'm so glad I came across it here. You managed to keep them both in character, which is quite a feat in itself, whilst still making them fit together so well.

Going OOC would be beside the point, isn't it? It was kind of difficult for Prussia, I'll admit, but I think the payoff was quite worthy. :3

I love this fic so much. The idea was brilliant, and you executed it perfectly! Their interaction was spot-on and all the historical detail that went into this was quite interesting.
(lol, this is a randomly late comment but uh, yeah. ♥)

I wanted to put more historical detail in, to be honest. XD It's just, the past they actually shared together but would not like to admit is really one of those things that make Prussia/Austria so shippy to me, it'd be such a shame to leave it out! But then putting too much in would ruin the atmosphere, and that's the most important part. I'd like an opportunity to write something on this theme again, though.

I've such a thing for historical fics - probably because I'd never be able to write one myself without going crazy over the research. Prussia and Austria here are gorgeously written, completely in character. And, and - that bit, where Prussia's just looking at Austria, and it's such a quiet moment, which is remarkable for Prussia already, but so much is happening and nothing's being said, I love it.
Oh, oh! and "I'll hate you again tomorrow," and "Then I guess I'll love you again the day after." MY HEART, look what you've done to it. It's all squishy and weird now, ahaha.

Historical, really? I suppose this spans a number of periods and deals with a few things, but I just touched on them so briefly that I never considered it to be one. Maybe it is. My standards are certainly kinda skewed.
And you've just nailed my own favourite bit in the whole thing! Those two lines were written in stone long, long before I figured out how to make Prussia realize he's still the Teutonic Order. XD I AM SQUISHY AND WEIRD WHEN I PLAN STORIES SOB.
But anyway, thank you so much for commenting! I love everyone of these, it makes me want to write the next one more quickly. :D

Ahhh, yay! Those were definitely my favorite lines in the story. I adore lines like that. If I could make a t-shirt with those lines, I so would! And I'm the same way when I write - I'll have specific lines in mind that I really want to keep but when I actually get to writing sometimes I can't keep them because it doesn't work anymore and then I get all sad and angry because I really liked those lines AND I AM SQUISHY AND WEIRD WHEN I PLAN STORIES TOO
You're very welcome, dear, and I look forward to your next one :D
