Microsoft products

Being a Microsoft employee, I am compelled to use our own products for the betterment of the company.  I do this, to a point.  If a Microsoft product meets or exceeds my minimum level of acceptability, I will use it, but if a far superior option is available, I will use that instead.

Patent is ridiculously broad and obvious, encompasses little to no real value, but causes hassles and disruption of the retail cycle of legitimately useful products and services - a total negative economic value, and indicative of everything that's wrong with the current "software patent cash-in" we're trudging through.

Speaking of Windows 7, one day I would like to purchase the upgrade version (Ultimate Ed.) so I can turn my copy of Vista into the OS it should've been from the beginning. I'm in no hurry to do this, though.

I use Office 2007 a lot at work, and am finally starting to get cozy with the new UI layout of the programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)--On the personal side, I wasn't always a MS Office proponent, but when Corel's Word Perfect couldn't stand up to the competitive heat, my word processing needs switched to the next available provider.
