In spite of the fact this is from the Wall Street Journal, newspaper for the biggest crooks since the Robber Barons, this is a good article.
I have despised Obama's fiscally unprogressive agenda for some time, even though he has done a number of things right. Even though he, along with congress, have kept the economy from plummeting into the dark abyss, it would seem that it was only to allow the banks to attempt to destroy it again. Fiscally, he may yet allow the wealthy destroy this country. Would I say he's a terrible president? As of now, no; Obama has done much more for this country socially and financially than people - especially this article - give him credit. However, how he spends these next two years, particularly concerning finance, will determine in my mind whether or not he was a good president.
I think the things he's done right is a very, very slim number. Overall, it's been disgraceful how the supermajority had been ramming legislation down the country's throat. The county is overall moderate politically, yet for the past decade at least it's been polarizing legislation one side or the other.
It is my hope now that the recently chastised parties get the message. With a conservative House, narrowly liberal Senate, and extremely liberal executive office... compromise will be the name of the game. I'm hopeful smart, balanced, and fiscally sound legislation comes as a result. But I doubt it.
