Ah, OK then. Well, here's what's going on in my life in 10 words-

Planning Events Are Fun, But Paying The IRS Sucks Hard. :-)

I'm still reading.

Also, I'm Christian, and I think people should be able to buy their alcohol whenever they please. ;)

I admit that I overpay the IRS a bit every year. Yes, I know, interest-free loan to the government and all that...but it's worth it at the end of the year knowing that I'm going to get money back.

I'm going to have to that, too. I need to find a CPA for some advice so this doesn't happen again.

But yeah, every decent Christian I know is all for personal choice and wouldn't ever impose their faith with the police force of Government. Those Christians are awesome. It's the political entity I am referring to that are downright bullying our local Legislature to enfore their Baptist morals on the whole populace of the state.

You know my views, so believe me when I say that Republicans who support this Blue Law are hippocrates. You cannot tell me with one mouth that you support small government but then tell me that same limited government is restricting my freedom to purchase a product on one day out the week (which, incidetally, Saturday was the Sabbath last I checked - we just moved it to Sunday out of convenience). /rant

Sorry about that.

I most definitely don't read your posts! Good god, man, why would I bother with the tiny bit of communication that your busy butterfly social life allows you? :)

Dude, next time you want people to post to say they like you, just say so. :) "DEAR LJ. I NEED SOME VALIDATION OF MY EXISTENCE." We'll respond, I promise! (This is me ducking.)

Seriously? I honestly thought LJ was the way of the do-do. Seems I was wrong. Hooray for that!

But yeah, I hope to get back to ranting and raving on this thing sometime in the near future.

The grownups still have LJ accounts and still use them on occasion. Its these damn kids with their "tweets" and their "facebook" that need to get off my damn lawn.

My problem is that FB has so conditioned me to "like" things that I look for that on posts and comments on here and am always disappointed that it's not there.

If you want to get into big/small government, that's my biggest issue with the IRS. It is so, so needlessly complicated. I have been doing my taxes with Tax Cut or some other software for years. Then I got a way lower refund than I was expecting last year, so I went to H&R Block. And holy shit. They nearly doubled my refund, PLUS did a "second look" at the previous year and got me another $400 back on that. I like to think I'm not an idiot and I thought I was doing just fine with the tax software. I don't recall at this point how much H&R Block charged, but I know it was more than worth it for the extra money they got me.

Last time I used H&R Bloc I paid more than I ever have in my life. It was a total rip off. Turbo Tax had done me fine until this year, as it's the first time I used "Home & Business" as I'm now my own LLC. I think next year I need to scout ahead well in advance for a trusted CPA.

I'm with you on the needlessly complicated, hence my glowing endorsement for the Fair Tax. :-)

H&R Block is outrageously expensive, but here's the thing: If I have to pay $150 and I get another $1000 that I wouldn't have otherwise? I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I paid them $150 for them to tell me I had to pay the Fed another $600. Lame.
