I adore the mad lust interspersed with John's detached, clinical observations. I actually love that there wasn't hot, detail sex, either, because this? This was so much hotter. Only if you do a read on this one and tell me where you think the tone is off, or the rhythm, or a word choice is awkward, or it doesn't make sense (if person A's hand is here how can they be touching there), or it repeats words, or it needs polish, or it needs fewer words.

You didn't at all! I just want OTHER PEOPLE BESIDES ME to read this loveliness. I will definitely take a closer look at it, of course, though nothing jumped out at me the first time round. Do you have a Britpicker? I guess I should find one, at some point, as I kind of just rely on what I've already read when I write my own things. Not always a good idea, lol...

Ok. This line is the only one that made me pause:

John resolutely bites his toast. His teeth are abruptly aching to clamp something. No, not just his teeth. I'm assuming you mean...his legs? Arms? Now that I'm reading it again, it doesn't catch me off guard, but the first time, it did a bit. Feel free to ignore. But, get it posted, dammit!

Wow, this is brilliant. You have a magnificent turn of phrase--your writing style immediately caught my eye and I have to say, I love it. It's wonderfully tongue-in-cheek and unique. I loved the story you told here, as well; very simple, but gripping. I especially loved how you repeated the opening bit again in context--very effective.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this. Wonderful job! :)

Thank you. THANK you. I am really trying to work on the craft aspect of writing, and I'm so touched that you see that in this piece. (I think the parts that came out best here were the ones I "shut up and wrote" round about midnight when my defenses were low.)

I'm floored by how good, consistently good, the writing in this fandom has been. I've learned a lot just from reading the recs.
