Because my newly minted Tumblr feed is filled with people rhapsodizing over ( that movie that makes me wonder if I am missing some essential strand of human DNA because I hate it so?, I'm putting this behind a cut. )

So you left a rec in 221b_recs and I'm nosy, which is how I ended up here? So, uh. Hi!

I just wanted to say a massive YES, to all of this. I really, really hate Love, Actually, in part because it was a blatant rip-off, done in a much less intelligent and much more creeptastic fashion, of a grossly underrated 1998 movie called Playing By Heart, and I know it is a minority opinion so I always want to yell halloo at other people who hate it too and tell them they are not alone.

So, um. Halloo! You are not alone.

I'll see if I can find Playing By Heart, then. Even if it lacks naked Martin Freeman.

I could have gone on about the number of creepy wrong emotions in this movie, but cathedralcarver (another member of our Secrit Haters Club) linked me to this amazing review and I felt the definitive word on the topic had, in fact, been written. I love, actually this review.

Ooh, thank you for the review link! And...Playing By Heart does not have naked Martin Freeman, but it does have Jon Stewart (!) playing Gillian Anderson's (!) love interest, which is pretty great.
