Yeah, that's about how I felt about it. I'm glad someone else felt horrified when they heard Knightly was going be in it.

You're not supposed to agree with him on this. ;) He was expecting some stones to be thrown, and of course, someone else has to do it since I've already cast the first. :P

I'm pretty determined to enjoy P&P(2005) again, if I ever get around to watching it once more, that is. Love my avatar.

Bwahaha! That was GREAT! A righteous pillorying. I remember coming into the movie much the same way that you did and ended up "enjoying" it in that I found it completely laughable. Laughed at instead of with, etc.

Great review. The movie gets no thumbs, but I give the review two thumbs WAY up.

Well, thanks. :-) You've improved my vocabulary too, BTW, with pillory. I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in my criticism.

Eh…well, I guess I could. Give me another two years to get around to that one. :-)

the musical score came from a two-year old's scribbles;
Come on! I love the music.
And most of the movie I like, too, even though it's not so much like the book.

Alright, I'll grant you that the music on its own might have been something to at least tolerate or enjoy perhaps. However, when put side by side with the poor poor attempt at feeling like a real movie, it was kind of like trying to watch a bunch of five year olds dance the viennese waltz to the compositions of those great composers, except that no one puts five year olds in the same rank as professional dancers, whereas people actually graded P&P(2005) on the same level as A&E's version.

Haha--well, I didn't really notice it, but each to their own. :) I'm not into dancing, so I guess I wouldn't know. But I do agree that in general the A&E version of dance looked more stately.

In retrospect, using a dancing metaphorical analogy to describe a movie wherein one of the chief diversions is dancing was probably a bad idea. :-)
