I'm so glad you finally read this book. I remember seeing it on your bookshelves and saying "Have you read that yet?" It is one of my favorite books, ever! I've read it several times, in different periods of my life, and seem to get different things each time. I'm happy you can share in the wonderfulness of this novel!
It was one of those books I picked up on one of our goodwill runs and then I just finally got around to reading it. I was at target last night in the book section and I thought of you. I saw Eat, Pray, Love; In Defense of Food; and The Secret: all books you've recommended. I'll get to them eventually. My booklist is sooooooooo long.
Go for In Defense of Food next! :-) I know it's in the libraries, because I checked it out this past summer. My new apartment (as of April 1st) is a four block walk from the local library and I couldn't be happier! I've kicked my book buying habit and have now acquired a book borrowing one instead.
In any case, how are YOU? It seems like it's been tough lately, so I thought I'd ask. Man, do I miss the hiking in Arizona, where you could just go to sort your head out. After a mile or two underneath the feet things just started to make sense!
I'm excited that you have your own apartment again. It must feel quite freeing after living with your mom for half a year. Not that your mom would make a bad roommate, but living in your own space is just about the best thing ever
( ... )
Congrats on your big girl book! It makes me smile, that's how I feel with pushing through all of those YA books. But then again, it is a bit necessary to do for your job. :) I really would like to start a book club with people, but I think I'm one of the few in my area that reads denser stuff for enjoyment (OK, sometimes!). May have to call the closest B&N if they offer anything like that.
