Now and then, I respond to an acquaintance's forwarded e-mail rumor with a link to the appropriate snopes page.  I don't think I've made many converts to the cause of truth, though

About every six months, I do a reply-all to an email my mother sends with a link to snopes and why the panic-inducing email is not true. And then I follow up with her to say why she shouldn't believe the emails she gets. So far I have not yet induced a behavior change, but I remain hopeful.
