I can only sympathize. When I tried to get my phone number from my Islay Street apartment transferred to the new house on Rockview, I actually ended up on tears on the phone with the operative (the nth one I'd talked to) and took a new phone number because it was so frustrating to try and transfer the old one within the same town! I've also let The Gas Company overcharge me more than once because trying to sort it out was so time consuming and upsetting I just gave up. I understand that companies do this to us deliberately, but I truly hate this aspect of the world we live in.
