I know the days of progressive rock have come and gone, and that these days, only Rush and Dream Theater really seem to be carrying on with the style. Listening to most of what I hear today, even on rock stations, I can't help but mourn the loss of progressive rock as an means to which songs like this one might actually be heard by everyone.

I was just ranting to a co-worker about this at work last night as we listened to Dream Theater on the laboratory's stereo.

I was feeling like that for a little bit, but it made me feel old. I decided to move on as well. I don't listen to the radio much anymore, but I make it a point to find new stuff, like She Wants Revenge and Gogol Bordello. Not completely new, but still moving on.

That's prog rock?

I just thought it was soft rock.

Eye in the Sky is one of their more FM-friendly songs, and to be fair it is from Alan Parsons Project's earlier more AOR-oriented offerings. They never quite had as complex of a sound as Rush or Dream Theater, but the influences are still there.
