Yesterday was the release date of "Repo Men", a new movie by Universal Studios. Also, a shameless ripoff of "Repo! The Genetic Opera". A list of the similarities between the two movies may be found here, published by one of the people who worked on R!TGO.

Personally--and I know this will likely make you quite angry at me, but I can't help but voice my opinion--I don't think it really matters which one came first. I keep hearing people say that the plot of one is a rip-off of the other, but I have to wonder if those same people have been watching the same movies I have...unfortunately, there really aren't any original ideas anymore. Nearly every movie that is released could be said to be a plot rip-off of something else. Both Repo! and Repo Men seem to have valid arguments for which came first, but no one can prove anything outright. I think, in the end, this is reminiscent of Neuton vs. Leibnitz with regards to the creation of Calculus...
