Heehee, thanks. I usually write in past tense, so this was an experiment in non-past-tense-ishness. :p And that SO is a word.

At night the cat likes to wedge his way between them, his tail flicking Jack’s nose repeatedly. The cat does it on purpose, they both know that.

LOL Of COURSE he does! (Is it true about orange cats being male?)

75% of orange cats are male, 25% of orange cats are female because the "red" allele is carried on the X chromosome.

Oh, I've met that cat, and yes, he does it on purpose. And he is definitely not a good ambassador to the feline kind for Jack!

I have it on good authority that peanut butter sandwiches are much, much better if they are made with sincerity, and it seems like Sam is getting the very best peanut butter sandwiches.

Cheer up, Jack. You have Carter's heart, and you'll still be there, long after Schrödinger has gone his independent way for good. And I suspect that it will frustrate Schrödinger all the days of his life that he is totally unable to teach you that you are staff, not management.

I've met that cat, too. At least Schrödinger doesn't attack after flicking his tail at Jack. I once knew one that attacked afterwards. Evil!

PB&J sandwiches are definitely best when effort and love is put into the making of them. Sam's getting the best of the best. :)

Thanks, as always, for the comment!

What was Jack trying to cook? D:

As cute as Sam & Jack are here, I really enjoyed the study of cat behaviour as well ;)
