This is not what they did it all for. They did it all to do their duty, make a difference, and keep their planet and their people safe. No this is not what they did it for, but it was the reward that they most wanted for doing what they did.
I especially liked the fumbling in the shower, because so many scenes of lovemaking are written to make it all come off so seamlessly, when that's just not the way it works, particularly when people are trying something tricky and a mite adventurous like that. For compatible couples, like them, it becomes a laugh along the way, and part of the joy of it all. It was a nice touch of realism that made the story ring all the more true.
Oh this is so nice! I love how there are angsty overtones, like how Jack is reflecting on their past (cataloguing the lines on sam's face and her worries) and thinking about their futures (planning to help sam through the tougher moments of leading the SGC) and how Sam is relishing being outside, even though it's raining, because she's so used to living in recycled air... and yet, overall, it's a very gentle, sweet, peaceful moment between them. *sighs happily* :)

I think the fumbling, when you're really comfortable with someone, is my favorite part of a relationship. :)
