Bad things:

• My spiffy new hemp sneakers give me blisters
  
• The dog ate two full ant-poison traps this morning

Good things:

• I probably got a second job to make up for my lost hours
  
• It turned out that the ant poison is only poisonous to ants and heartworms and such, it's perfectly safe for dogs

Eek! I'm glad your dog's okay, and I hope your feet are okay soon.

I'm surprised Jackie wasn't feeling ill yesterday. I had chocolate ice cream the night before, and twice I caught her licking the bowl. She managed to clear half of what was left before I just put the bowl away. Maybe some sorts of chocolate aren't as terribly toxic to animals; my dog ate a bag of chocolate chip cookies once, and one of my grandparents' dogs devoured a 1-lb box of See's candy.

I'm surprised we haven't killed a pet by now. XD Every year we have an Easter lily, always within the cats' reach. Apparently those things are deadly to cats.

According to the pest-control guy, the ant poison was actually good for Poppy; it's essentially the same thing as heartworm medicine. Go figure.
