I came across this article on LED tattoos on Wired. It's an interesting enough story, but as the technology is clearly a long ways out not terribly exciting. Since I have tattoos my first thought was 'Hey, you could use those for oddly impermanent tattoos and tweek designs you don't like!"

Since I am IT person my second thought was that if you did that, someone is sure to figure out a way to hack the process. If that kanji tattoo didn't say something embarassing before it will now!

Regarding the ad itself I think it's because they realise their target market are going to be bleeding-edge early adopters who are tired of standard roles anyway.
