“We read to know we're not alone.”

My one resolution this year is to read more books (instead of just fic). I was given a load of books for Christmas, and I've bought myself a bunch so I have no excuse not to. Other than the shit-load of work I have to do for uni...

I'm going to try keeping my Goodreads account more up to date, but as extra encouragement I'm going to do a reading ( Read more... )

books, reading bingo 2015

I think I'm mostly gonna read the books I want to read, and see if they fit a square. And depending on how that goes, I'll probably at some point intentionally look for books that fit.

Some will be easier than others to come across by chance. I read a lot set in high school, and there's so many that are part of a series, lots have break ups and fights of some kind (though not sure how you decide if it's epic!?) and almost all are ones I hear about online!

But a book set in Paris, for example, I'd probably have to look for.

Reading's supposed to be fun, not work. No point in reading something that sounds rubbish or dull just because it lets you tick a box!

I'm currently reading the Divergent series. I just finished the second book and will now start the last one, only I'm scared because I heard it sucks :/

I've read the first two, and started to read the third soon after it came out before I realised I couldn't remember anything that had happened in books one and two! So I planned to read the whole trilogy from the start, but haven't yet. I have, however, spoiled myself about how it ends... :|

Oh God noooooooooo...that smiley says it all xD
I kinda have the same problem with the Hunger Games trilogy...I read the first two books, never got around to start the third, and then I accidentally read a spoiler about what happens to a certain character and now I have zero motivation to start that book EVER. LOL
(I probably will read it in the upcoming semester break though...)

The smiley was more indicating my annoyance at being spoiled (even if it was on purpose) than the spoiler itself.

Haha, the final Hunger Games book is my favourite of the three I think.
