My new website!

So I'm actually going to do this doula thing! Chris helped me set up a website/blog. It's not in it's final form, because he's eventually going to pay one of his designers to really kick it up a notch, but it's not too bad. I would LOVE it if you guys would check it out and give me feedback. I know that many of you are my target age (childbearing) ( Read more... )

I really like how clean and organized the site is.

I also like that the price is listed. When I was looking for a doula, looking for services and pricing was important. I didn't like it when the price wasn't listed.

I like that you address whether a doula will participate in both natural and intervention births. That was also important to me. I didn't change my mind until 35 weeks pregnant to do natural.

Perhaps some links to other child birth people in the area? My doula was linked to a Bradley instructor.

I'm a science-y person, so I like the anatomy stuff. I'm not as "touchy feely" as everyone else, so I'm not sure how helpful my comments are.

I agree with the above, my only two technical website suggestions are to justify the text, so your right margin is straight, very easy to do, and to get a better picture of yourself (not that I'm saying the one you have is hideous) but I think a family or at least you with the kids and more body rather than super close up. You want to convey that you are a warm, child person which you can't really see in just a shot of your face. JUST SAYIN'. <3

p.s. to justify the text (I don't know if you worked on the code or your husband or what) add <*p align="justify"> on each individual page before blocks of text, or in your .css style sheet add into body { text-align:justify; }

You left out "need" in this sentence:

"In fact, you only 300-400 additional calories..."

You put a lot of work into this. Good job!
