I support the Occupy Wall Street movements in principal. Where it started and what it stands for are real issues that need to be solved, in my opinion. I have seen quite a lot of things of this nature, though, and it definitely gives me a distaste for some of the people participating. But I wouldn't write off the movement just because of it; every movement has its bad set of people involved. It's their overall goals & progress that you should consider; hold the individual responsible for the individual, not the group responsible for the individual. Should they be trying to control the participants? Of course, definitely. But sometimes people are just going to be out of line, no matter what.
Sorry I am responding so late, I need to check livejournal more often. I did not write off the movement because of this act of vandalism. I recognize that every organization has some members who are in it for the wrong reasons or make stupid decisions. I have never agreed with the Occupy movement from the start, but had never really been affected by it or the members until now.
