My current commute brings me to within a block of the Harold Washington library, a 9 story monstrosity in the Loop. I had some time last night after work and needed some books that my local branch didn’t have, so I decided to pick them up rather than have them sent. I now remember why I hate that library.

We call it "the Ghostbusters building". Thank god I've never had to use it for anything. The rooftop garden it beautiful, however, which is useful to know if you're a fat cat some charitable organisation is trying to milk.

I'm sure that you've seen this by now, but the website was updated! And you can request books online! Its very exciting and I'm picking up my first ones this week.
