The Barbarian Banquet.

The pining twist of his raven brows devises and almost callow illusion of sorrow at his guest's departure, but it lingers only a moment as his obligations ( Read more... )

::pouts as she enters the near empty Temple:: Damn, did I miss Attila again? I wanted to ask the Scourge of God about Chalons. Hm. Ahh well, perhaps I shall have to prepare a feast in his honour myself soon.

*it had taken him a while to find a babysitter but he had, finally, and now he stood at the War God's door, knocking*

*having no knowledge of the harassment that will surely ensue shortly, he senses the fellow miscreant's presence and has the doors swung open before Seth. A maiden adorned in shimmering armour chaperons Seth to Ares' chamber doors, striking the door with a man's strength.*

*rushes through, carrying the baby*
So, Hebe is coming over and she's going to watch the baby here, I told her that you wouldn't have a problem with that, so she's on her way too. You don't mind do you? I knew you wouldn't, after all, come on, she's so adorable.

*stops finally, taking a breath and looking at ares with a wide smile*

*watches Seth dart past him, fiddling what the child he's yet to be introduced to and prattling away about Hebe, this anonymous infant and them staying...where? Lowered his chin after a long pause, glowering at Seth..*

What.

"You're going where? To babysit?"

Hercules just stared at Hebe for a moment. "Ares doesn't need babysitting, though a good spanking on the other hand..."

Hebe arches a brow. "I haven't had to spank him in years. And it was only that one time. And that doesn't even count - it was an endurance test and he was right, my hands aren't heavy enough to do any real damage."

Hebe pulls her wrap around her tighter and slips her hand around her husband's waist.

"I'm going to babysit Seth's child. And my old room is better suited for it. Now, help me get over there without spewing like a fountain. You steady, I'll direct."

"Oh, Ruina? Oh. Um, yeah... I don't think Seth has a tapestry left intact." He concentrates on making the ride as smooth as possible for her. She just doesn't teleport well, poor thing.

He blinks, and they're in Ares temple. In Ares chambers. There's Ruina... and there's Seth and Ares. He forces his mouth into something vaguely approaching a smile. He'll be polite.

Hebe hates teleporting. She can't hate it enough. Nauseating, dizzying...

She opens her eyes the minute she feels her brother, which is well before she's properly solid again.

The walls of the temple feel familiar and homey and the only strangeness is the fact that Herc is beside her. It takes a breath for past and present to make sense again.

But the first word out of her mouth is still, "Enyalios..."

::there was no sound, only the slightest disturbance of air as her form coalesced out of the air near the bed, lithe fingers grabbing the necklace she ws looking for, reaching behind her neck to connect it as she walked out of the room, lack of attention accounting for not hearing the voices::

I just forgot my...

::she blinked, looking up as she saw not only Ares, but Hebe, Herc, her brother, and a baby, a brow arching slowly as lips curled into an amused, if curious smirk::

Mmm. party?

*knows Hebe will indubitably do the tongue clicking disapproval thing if he looks to her for assistance, she's acquired that feminine trait far too quickly for her age. Hercules still avoided flagrantly, as Seth is most likely the one to cause him the most grief immediately; sienna orbs fermenting with the miserable synchronizing. Flashing behind Isis, he jostles her toward Seth abruptly* She certain is. *side-stepping with a sloping of his sable crowned head*
So you would be the best man to remedy ..this.

"HEY! Watch the baby!"

He side-steps, jostling Hebe, as he moves to make sure Isis doesn't stumble into the child, with potentially disastrous results for... somebody.

Hebe stumbles automatically reaching for her brother, and righting herself neatly into his arms. She glances at where she is and glares at her husband.

Trust Herc to go be heroic over someone who can no doubt take care of herself.

She shifts testing to see if it's wise to pull away. She had no clue from her brother that Isis had been here recently. He didn't have that smug air of satisfaction about him. If she's not reading him well anymore...

And it's getting far to close and confused in here.

::Herc's mention of the baby startled her enough that she stumbled, eyes quickly going to the floor to make sure her niece wasn't directly underfoot, The motion tilting her towards the hero reaching for her. Assured she wouldn't fall, She glared at Seth, then Ares::

And what's wrong with your sister, precisely?

And *please* tell me what needs to be *remedied*? ::her brow arched dangerously as she directlyed the question to the War God, a kind smile breaking momentarily s she looked into his arms towards Hebe:: I don't believe we've actually met...::after nod, her glare immediately returned, as she looked up once more::
