Cynical retreat.

Jan 06, 2003 07:16

The affliction of having his most loathed sibling fracture through the seemingly impervious slab of steel was like a vile phantasm only a dervish could smile at. The resounding drum within his plastered skull deafened the words his moron of a brother utter, and he's most appreciative of his state for that sole reason ( Read more... )

"Ares! So glad I could come to your rescue!" He grins widely. "Hebe will be so pleased."

biting her lip to not laugh hearing the Hero's words, her hand reached out, lithe fingers curling around the War God's wrist, halting his retreat

Leaving, Ares? I'd like a word...

*colliding into Hercules and whirling around, arrested arm torn free antagonistically. Backs away from the both of them, hands elevated and scowl veiling his snarling facial features..*

I'm unquestionably indebted, so much so that your mere proximity makes my stomach churn with anxiety. And you, Isis, I'm sure there is a more appropriate time for a "chat".

"Indebted." He chuckles.

"Don't worry, brother. I'm sure I'll think of something to let you pay off your debt. And far be it from me to keep you from your chat! I'll just make my way home now. Hebe's waiting, you know, and I'm sure she'll want to know what happened."

He turns to Isis. "I'll be on my way. Have a good evening, Lady."

Hebe blinks at the sudden pull she feels to go to her brother. It makes her start pacing. When a second wave of need hits her, she's materializing in front of Seth's temple before she realizes it.

The dizziness makes her pause to catch her breath, but the something tugs at her making her run.

The door's open, and Hebe speeds through, holding her skirt above her knees. She follows the pull, left, right, right, down, there's a hallway, a body, another hallway.

Hebe catches a flash of Isis, a hint of blood, and then she's got one hand on her brother's forhead, shushing him.

"Enyalios, I'm here."

Something makes her turn around even as she produces a cup of ambrosia to soothe Ares.

The form crumpled against the wall...."Herc ?"

*his flesh steamy to the touch of his sister's hand, frame nearly quaking with the anticipation of goring his afflicted brother's body with infinite flesh wounds. Bypassing Hebe, her presence not truly registered through his provoked incoherence, he leaps upon Hercules' back and begins his onslaught, without exception battering the knife toward bone, muscle and flesh*

Hebe stares in shock, and then slaps her hand against the small of her brother's back, her hand scrambling over the leather for one of his secondary blades. She struggles against his blind rage and finally finds one at his side.

The minute the metal's in her hand, Hebe slashes her wrist, and moves her bleeding limb near her brother.

"Ares !!"

She can't think of anything else that might stop him. And duty is kicking in over her need to protect her husband.

*he looks blankly at his open front door, thinking that he might want to kick someone's ass for leaving it like that. The smell of blood wafts to him and his eyes narrow. He moves to the livingroom and makes a secure nest for the baby with two plush armchairs and pillows from the couch. He takes off his shirt and covers her with it and moves further into the house.
He is startled by the sight of blood and the feelings of pain. The Chaos that occured here still fills the air, making it pleasently thick. His muscles tense and a smile unknowingly crosses his lips.

Then he sees that it's Gods laying before him.*

What the fuck went on here?

*He moves forward, wordlessly and picks Hebe up, putting her over a shoulder, feeling her blood running down his skin, he shivers. He moves then to Isis, picking her up and walks, half dragging her out the front door where he deposits the females gently on the lawn.*

Sit. Stay.

*He moves back inside and looks over the two wounded men. Instinct tells him what has gone on, which is the aggressor. He picks up the honking beast of a man that is Herc and with little effort, takes him outside as well. Deciding Ares can wait, he stands over the trio, waiting.*

There ws a loud gsp as her leg ws pulled free of her prison, nd healing powers immediately began to work once she ws outside the door of the house. she closed her eyes, gathering herself as she split her concentration, looking up to her brother

Ares was upset... attacked Herc. then went sort of nuts, trying to really hurt him... Hebe appeared, tried to help... got res to focus on here... Herc sw someone hurting Hebe, mde a lst blow... and knocked everyone out. that's the condensed version...

carefully, she tried to pull herself up onto her legs, testing the healing process, strength crefully regaining s she unconsciously moved towrd the door

In the morning, a lone mortal figure will make its way to the outer door of Seth's temple, her harp (the symbol of bardic immunity) displayed openly across her back as she attaches a small square of cardboard to the Chaos God's door.

The card reads:

Locked out? Locked in? Locked away?
Next time call Brighid's Locksmith Service.
Guarranteed service, speedy and discrete.
No blood required.
