Earlier today, I opened my partially-done midterm document as an attachment from my email. Worked on it extensively up till now, saved, decided to call it a night. Closed the document in frustration before e-mailing the latest version to myself. Now I can't find it anywhere. I saved it, so clearly it must exist somewhere on my computer...but where

If you found this, you've probably figured it out, but (at least in my experience) anything you open up from an email and do not save/change the directory "address" of stays in the TEMP folder.

it has freaked me out on a number of occasions, and once (before I got savvy), I told a professor that my computer literally ate my homework. hahaha.
