That book you've just finished sounds heavy going. Can I suggest that you balance it perfectly with "The Book Thief" - ordinary Germans outside Munich doing their best to provide shelter for the untermensch at risk of their lives. It's one of those transcendent books that stays with you long after you've finished it.
