Let's start with when I say the Flash, I mean Barry Allen.
As far as i know Wally did not make it over into the new DCU but I guess we shall see if that remains true.

This book is a bit of a soft reboot.
Barry is the Flash but he is not married to Iris West. (although we do meet her in this issue)
He still works as a forensic scientist and is sort of dating Patty Spivot, who long time Flash fans will know as a co-worker in the crime lab.

As far as this issue goes the Flash's powers seem largely unchanged. We shall likely see to what extent they are the same/different as the series continues.

His uniform is subtly different. I'm not sure I like it. Instead of his ring popping out a uniform he puts on it seems to activate a necklace he wears that spits out armor pieces that lock together around him and are held together with speed force lightning. All in all the effect makes him look like Flash-Tron IMO.

The book itself is well written and the art is clean although the entire book seems... muted. nothing bright or crisp happening in this book.

I have yet to decide if I will get issue 2. I was already kinda tired of the character before flashpoint and now I find it hard to care about him.
