so my appendix ruptured and i was in the hospital for 5 days where i threw up everything i tried to eat. i was ousted from the hospital where i VERY gradually regained my appetite. my appetite is now up to half its former glory and i can usually manage one normal-sized meal a day. but throughout this whole ordeal i've lost about 10-15 "bad pounds ( Read more... )

I recommend a 1-pound burger with fries and a chocolate shape. That'll fill you up good.

Rough news, glad you pulled through OK, even if a little less for wear. Why do you go back in for surgery in February?

my appendix ruptured resulting in peritonitis, the inflammation of the lining of the abdominal cavity. they actually sent me into surgery with the intent of removing my appendix. but once they opened me up, they saw that with everything all inflamed and stuck together, it would have meant removing a lot of stuff they didn't want to (like four inches of my colon) so instead, they left it in there

i'll be going back in for surgery in February to remove my appendix, and hopefully by then due to a combination of the surgery they did before and the antibiotics they administered, things should be in better shape... so the surgery should be safer.

Wow, that's substantially worse than what was being reported. I'm very glad your OK, and can totally understand your lack of appetite.
